Extreme Card Sharing or EKS is a special technology that has been developed by the FTA Satellite Testing Community to supply codewords to any compatible Internet connected Satellite receiver. The basic principle behind Extreme Key Sharing is that the platform is designed from the ground up by members of the testing community to support as many systems as possible, regardless of brand.
EKS is not the same as similar technologies, such as Internet Key Sharing (IKS) or private card sharing solutions, however they do have many things in common.
- EKS, IKS and Private Card Sharing require the FTA receiver to be connected to the Internet.
- All involve a method of disseminating required code words to the box in order to make encrypted channels viewable.
- All experience occasional freezing and downtime due to a number of networking and server technical issues.
Some of the things that make Extreme Key Sharing stand out:
- EKS is not limited to a specific brand of receiver, however a bin modification is required for each model it would support.
- EKS is not based on any single subscriber card sharing.
- EKS is funded by FTA community member donations as opposed to vendor receiver sales.
- Because EKS is not sponsored or affiliated with any particular vendor, it has greater breathing room in its core functions.
Extreme Key Sharing has already been proven through several public beta exposures to work as designed for the Neusat/Neosat IPro 2000 and 200 Plus systems. Additional brands and models are expected to be tested very soon. A full public release of the Neosat EKS system is AVAILABLE NOW!
Currently an active test group of 50+ members that include several major players in the FTA world are testing out EKS and working to provide the coding and server teams with the necessary feedback to perfect the system. Many testers include well known FTA community forum moderators who will be able to take the knowledge of Extreme Key Sharing back to their own existing memberships. Sorry, Membership in the active EKS Group is NOW FULLY OPEN to new donating members.
EKS solutions are maintained by fellow members of the FTA testing community and you will eventually be able to receive adequate support from your favorite FTA community web sites, provided they are participating.
Our FTA Forums Neosat EKS Discussion Area and Live FTA Chat are great places where you can receive support from members who are testing this solution along with you.
Other sources for great support for the EKS project include: ExtremeDVB.com (more to follow...)
Extreme Key Sharing solutions are member supported and will be available as a privilege for members in the GOLD Donation Category (available to those members contributing $100 or more annually). More information on the platform will be released here as formal decisions are made.
